DIABOLI - biography

The Finnish black metal band was formed in the summer of 1992 under the name SIGILLUM DIABOLI. "Descent Into Hell", the first demo was released in November of 1992. Back then the line-up included five members.

The band played their only gig in January of 1993. Later in 1993 three members left/were kicked out of the band.

The second demo, simply titled "Demo II" was recorded as a two piece band and it was released in June of 1994.

Both tapes are completely sold out, and therefore not available.

In the summer of 1995 the bands name was changed to DIABOLI, and a bit later it became a one man band, the only member being Pete.

In the autumn of 1995 Pete recorded the first album "Mesmerized by Darkness" and Unisound Records (Greece)

released it in the summer of 1996.

In 1999 Diaboli recorded their new album entitled 'Anthems of Sorrow' which will be released early in the fourth quarter of the year 2000. Be prepared to be devastated by dark, barbaric black metal in the vein of ancient Burzum and Mayhem!
